Review of Aaxa Technologies M2 Micro Projector

Aaxa Widescreen Logo.jpg

The Aaxa Technologies M2 micro projector has an impressive set of features for a device retailing between $349-$369.  If you haven't done so already, check out our unboxing of the M2 projector.  It is a sleek unit and offers a nice set of features and functionality.

Here, we take a look at the projection quality of the M2 projector.  The 110 lumens and XGA resolution (1024 x 768) are impressive specs for a device of this size.  In addition, the M2 has several different video input options, including: VGA, HDMI, composite, and an SD flash memory card slot.  It also has a 1W internal speaker, making it a viable solution for gaming and movies.

The projection quality of the Aaxa M2 is pretty impressive - especially given the low price point.  Color reproduction is good, though the picture appears somewhat washed out (likely due to the higher brightness of the M2).  In some instances, projection of whites appear to have a very slight greenish color to them.  Otherwise, the colors looked good during our tests.

Focusing of the image was not an issue for us.  We were easily able to set the focus with little trouble.  Images looked crisp and clear during our testing.  Even slight movement of the projector did not hamper the sharpness of the image.

At a mid-$300 price point, the Aaxa Technologies M2 micro projector is a compelling value for those seeking a small, portable unit with several options for connecting to video sources.  While the images appeared slightly washed out with a greenish hue, the video quality was generally very good.  The M2 is something worth checking out for those in need of a highly portable projector with high brightness and resolution.

I purchased an Aaxa M2 in early December and the first one they sent had a bad fan which failed in about 3 weeks. They quickly sent another projector which is now working fine without fan problems.

Nice little projector for the price. I use it for every day HD TV viewing on my Dish Network HD PVR and it look very good (though blacks COULD be blacker and shadow detail better)!

I definitely recommend this PJ if you need a light mobile device or want a decent projector TV for a dorm room or small apt.  It get an 85" (diag.) image at around 12 feet.
